2. Lower Point Cherry Bars Directions
- Preheat oven to 350°F. Line a 12x17 jelly roll pan with aluminum foil and spray with nonstick spray.
- In a stand mixer, combine unsweetened apples< auce and sweetener for 1-2 minutes. Add salt, eggs, vanilla, and almond extracts, and mix until fully incorporated.
- Gradually add whole wheat flour and baking powder, and mix until just combined. Reserve 1 3/4 cups of dough.
- Press the remaining dough into the prepared pan, then top with the homemade no sugar added cherry filling. Drop small pieces of the reserved dough over the filling.
- Bake for 50-60 minutes or until golden brown.
- Let the bars cool completely on a wire rack.
- For the glaze, whisk together powdered erythritol and unsweetened almond milk until smooth, then drizzle over the cooled bars.
- Cut into 35 squares and serve.
